In part two of our Empowered Women blog series, we'd love to introduce you to the vivacious Ely Fisher!
She's a Mum and Health & Wellness Influencer who shares her own self-love project through her social media accounts and inspires her almost 30,000 followers daily with wise-words and advice that she has learned through her journey of weight-gain and weight-loss.
Ely’s journey began when she experienced her biggest body confidence ‘low’ after being pregnant with her son Ocean.
“There was a time in my life when my reflection made me sad, looking down at my body in the shower made me not want to shower and confront what I had learned to be my body that I couldn’t associate with”.
She had gained an extra 30kg, her body felt weak and she did not recognise herself anymore. She knew that something had to change, but it was so overwhelming. After almost a year of self-doubt, Ely realised that it COULD be possible to change her life and so her journey to becoming the healthiest, happiest version of herself began.
Ely found her own motivation by simply moving. Once she started to move, she didn’t want to stop! Today, she continues to make a positive impact on the lives of thousands of people across the globe. Using her platform on social media and hosting talks on stage, Ely hopes that sharing her story will help bring health and fitness into peoples' homes globally and inspire others to become the person they dream to be.
"I only have one life, one voice, one body and I want to see how far that can take me, how many people I can reach! And help and encourage and meet! I want to make a dent in the world."
She is committed and disciplined but has only learned these characteristics through gaining weight and then having to deal with it and get healthy again. She fights not only for herself but others dreams and is just so passionate about people knowing that their goals are not impossible, and that there is hope. This is one of the reasons she has gained such a strong following.
You may be familiar with Ely from our Aim’n Adventure last September in Bali, where she inspired and motivated a group of women by sharing her journey with body-love and self-confidence. There, she encouraged our participants to dare of a life they dream to live, by believing in the power of self-love and the importance of not falling victim to some of the 'brules' (bull**** rules), of society that may restrict them from realising their true potential.
We loved introducing Ely to the aim'n Adventure ladies as she shares in the values that we hold around creating a positive community where everybody and every BODY is celebrated and treating your body with love and respect is key to living your dream life. It's all about feeling good and being confident and content within yourself. We love sharing this message through the creation of our activewear.
Ely believes that loving yourself is one of the most important tricks to finding true happiness, and If she could say one thing to our #aimntribe to empower you to feel confident and believe in yourself, it would be:
“There is no one else like you, no one else that smiles like you, that laughs like you, that cries like you or that dances like you. You are unique, beautiful, different, worthy, lovely and deserving. Your body has carried you this far, your soul has comforted you this far, your feet have seen many roads, and many more to come, sometimes they have been burnt on hot ground, and other times have wanted to hide away and not move in the colder seasons. But here you are, still standing. Still you. So today when you look in the mirror... see you, see that body worthy of some extra love and appreciation. See your old soul worthy of some attention."
We hope you have been inspired by Ely's journey and this has been a great reminder to be kind to yourself and to practice self-love. You are beautiful, powerful and you can do anything you set your mind to... so put your positive pants on and make your dreams happen! <3
